This Month's Green Note - January 2024

The Happiest New Year Ever

A very happy New Year to all of our NACS families! There is something special about this time of year that makes us want to start again. Some of us make resolutions, commitments, or promises to be a better version of ourselves. Regardless of what we call it, there is a feeling of renewal, a feeling of having a second chance, that comes at this time of year.

Truth be told, we do not have to wait until January to make a new start. Christ tells us that His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). So in this new year, what are you aiming for? A closer walk with Christ? More time with your family? To become healthier? Better grades… students? Unfortunately, many of our good intentions do not make it past the first month, if that. So, what’s the answer? Well, you can try achieving small goals that lead up to your main goal; you can get an accountability partner; or you can pursue behavior modification. While these actions may be helpful, let’s check to see what God’s word says.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect (Romans 12:2). If your goals are in line with God’s will, then give it to Him. Stay in communion with Christ and watch God transform your mind by changing the way you think. So, go ahead, make that resolution, and watch God work. It will be your best year ever!

December Highlights

December ended with a bang! The NACS students did a wonderful job with the Christmas program. During the program, Gospel 7 debuted with the song, “Oh Come All Ye Faithful,” and they were marvelous! So, a special shout-out to: Scarlett, Fendi, Alexia, Kylee, Chloe, Lynn and Zarah. The remainder of the month consisted of holiday parties and the students working hard to finish the semester strong.
