This Month's Green Note - September 2025

Enjoy Labor Day weekend!

Hello NACS  Family,

A very happy Labor Day weekend to each of you! Here’s a bit of the history behind the reason for this holiday:

Labor Day is celebrated to honor social and economic achievements of American workers and the labor movement. This holiday was established by the labor movement in the 19th century during the Industrial Revolution, to recognize the struggles for better working conditions, wages, and the establishments of modern labor benefits like the 40-hour workweek. It became a federal holiday in 1894. (https://www.doi.gov.)

A very special “thank you” to all of our families who were able to come for Curriculum Night. In case you missed it, please reach out to your child’s teacher for any important information you may have missed.

This year, NACS is pushing to increase our overall math scores. Here is what this will look like for your child:

  • Kindergarten: Work with your child each night to recognize numbers 1-100.

  • 1st/2nd Grades: Master basic addition facts.

  • 3rd/4th Grades: Master multiplication facts.

  • 5th-8th Grades: Memorize formulas to solve equations.  (If your child doesn’t know his or her facts, then master those before moving on.)

We need all hands on deck to move our kids to the next level, and to be on par with our community!

Thank you for your help!

E-Rate Forms

Each year NACS is required to have our parents fill out the E-rate forms. The information gained from these forms allows NACS to receive funds that are used to enhance our technology and its associated infrastructure in our building. Without these funds, we would have to pass these cost on to our families. Therefore, we strongly urge each family to complete this short form when it is received this week.
